The most amazing! Lynn Lowery first collected this plant in the late eighties in the Sierra Lampazos Mountains of Northeastern Mexico. It quickly became a favorite. Zone 7b to 10 Native to northern Mexico Grows to 20"h x 24"w

A very fine selection! We chose this selection from a block containing hundreds of seedlings at Mountain States Wholesale Nursery in Phoenix, Arizona, because of its perfect form and jagged teeth. Luckily it offsets more than the species thus allowing us to offer it periodically. Treat as a pot plant in all except the arid southwest for this species resents humid hot weather.

Zone 8a to 9 Garden origin Grows to 8"h x 12"w

Agave parryi variegate! This little plant has to be one of the coolest agave variegates for pot culture. The compact size, fantastic color, and beautiful form make this plant a knockout in the succulent collection. One can't help but admire how well the black teeth and spines contrast with the cream edged green leaves. If this plant were a dessert it would be comparable to Creme Brulee. Note: The true identity as to the species of this Agave is being debated but there is little debate that it is a truly great plant for container culture.

Globe Agave! This species has the tightest spherical shape of any agave. Zone 8b to 10 Native to northeastern Mexico Grows to 10"h x 14"w

A recently described species that closely resembles Agave striata but with an open flowerscape and long weeping foliage. It inhabits exposed areas in transitional pine oak scrub and is more tolerant of moisture and shade than its close relatives, a. stricta and a. striata, that live at lower elevations in the rain shadow. Absolute cold hardiness is unknown.

Agave titanota
Agave titanota

Y10-23 Agave titanota

Zone 9b to 10 Native to Mexico Grows to N.A.

The alabaster-white coloration of this plant's leaves makes it one of the most prized species for Agave collectors. The 2' long leaves average about 5" wide and are broader near the tip and narrower at the base. The margins of the leaves are lined with varying degrees of teeth from nearly toothless to broad papery saw-tooth-like projections. The seedlings we offer are from the Rancho Tambor population in Oaxaca, Mexico described by Howard Scott Gentry in his monumental work on the genus Agave. This population is generally all white, though green-leaved plants do exist in adjacent areas so seedling variation is in play here.

Agave triangularis
Agave triangularis

Y10-60 Agave triangularis

Zone 9b to 10 Native to Mexico Grows to 2'h x 2-1/2'w

Triangle agave! When this agave matures, its leaves are stout, dagger-shaped and clustered together, creating a starburst effect. The leaves are bright apple-green with a broad yellow band running down the center of each leaf. When stressed by drought and cool weather, the leaves turn shades of red. This plant is suitable for container culture because its mature size is not overwhelming. Certainly a horticultural star in the making.

Agave weberi 'Arizona Star'
Agave weberi 'Arizona Star'

Y10-22 Agave weberi 'Arizona Star'

Zone 9 to 10 Garden origin Grows to 5'h x 6'w

Variegated Agave weberi! The standard Agave weberi is one of our favorite agaves. We love the bluish green color of the plant, the absence of teeth on the margins of the leaves and the elegant growth form. So, it was exciting to find a variegated form of this already great agave. Broad creamy bands line the edges of the leaves and enliven the bluish-green zone that runs down the center. This clone does have minute, fine teeth that run along the leaf margins but these teeth are benign and unobjectionable.
